Approximately 70 million people in the U.S. face housing insecurity, live in substandard housing or pay more than 50% of their income in rent. These people include the working middle class, the elderly, veterans, individuals with disabilities, people eligible for early release from justice and those struggling with sobriety or addiction. Over the past 10 years, the lack of affordable housing has dramatically increased the number of homeless individuals and families and has reached crisis proportions in many parts of the country.
The goal of NAHA is to offer solutions to the housing crisis by bringing together stakeholders, nonprofit leaders, government agencies, lenders and affiliated affordable housing providers to educate, collaborate and advocate for affordable housing.
